We all know how stressful Christmas can be, the organising of weeks ahead, the cooking and prepping, and the housework before your guests arrive can all be a bit too much, and all for just 24 hours? We don’t blame you if you’re a bit of a Christmas Grinch by now. However, it doesn’t all have to be draining; with a bit of prep beforehand, your kitchen can turn from hectic to a blissful and stress-free environment with just a few prep ahead steps…

1. You can make the gravy up weeks in advance by simply making it and storing it in the freezer and defrosting it on Christmas day. Just add the turkey juices before serving!

2. Stuffing freezes well, place it into an oven dish and freeze it ready to put in the oven straight away, or cook it and then freeze it so you just have to warm it on Christmas day, this is especially good if you have limited oven space.

3. “Blanching and refreshing” – boil the vegetables the day before, drop them into cold water to stop the cooking process, then the next day simply reheat them on a pan or in the microwave.

4. Peel and chop your potatoes the day before and place them in a container with water to stop them browning.
